On March 28, 1993, 31-year-old Javier Gomez got in a dispute with four Mexican males at his rooming house known as the “Eloise Hilton,” located at 208 Snively Avenue in the Eloise area of Winter Haven. Gomez was armed with a 9mm handgun, which jammed during the dispute.  At least two other weapons were fired at Gomez. This incident is possibly gang related.
