The Department of Detention, under the command of Chief Mike Allen, is comprised of sworn/certified detention deputies, civilian support members, and  sworn  deputy  sheriffs. It is divided into two Divisions: the Support Division and the Security  Division. The Support Division encompasses Inmate Intake, Inmate Records, Inmate Programs, Court Security Court Process, and Food Services. The Security Division encompasses the housing of inmates within the Central County Jail in Bartow and the South County Jail in Frostproof.
